Good afternoon,
I would like to conditional format 1 cell based on the contents of another cell. EX. if column 'A' has an x in it I would like text in column b to turn white and background turn blue. Thanks in advance for what I know is very simple to most.

Pivot Table Drill Down
Double-click any number in a pivot table to create a new report showing all detail rows that make up that number
Select cell B2. Go to format --> conditional formatting. Change "cell value is" to "formula is" and enter =ISNUMBER(SEARCH("X",A2)). Click "Format" and choose the formatting options that you want to appear if A2 has an X in it. Press OK twice.
