I have created a resultant excel sheet using macro. In that sheet, if some values are not available, it returns #N/A in the cell. This happens in 2 columns. I want to high light those error boxes by filling them with red color.

Please advise

Excel Facts

Format cells as currency
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+4 to format cells as currency. (Shift 4 is the $ sign).
Use conditional formatting with a formula of say

=ISNA(A2)

where A2 is the first of your cells.

thanks for the advise xld.

Could you please tell me how and where to use this?

in my sheet i want either the letters or the box to be filled with red if any cell in columns C or E has the value #N/A.

Please advise me the procedure how to use this formula.

Thanks.

is it

"Format - conditional formatting - cell value is - equal to - #N/A - format - Font bold - fill color red"

If it is the same, how do I apply that to columns "E" & "I" through a macro?

If it is not, how is it done?

Thanks for advise

That is the idea, but use a formula.

Just select all of the target cells before you do the Format>Conditional Formatting.

Assuming that you selected column C first. then change the Condition 1 dropdown value to Formula Is, and add a formula =ISNA(C1), thebn set the font and fill colours.
