conditional format question

Hi again you lot just a quick one , when i enter a W into a cell i would like all the cells to the left and including that cell to turn red ?
All help appriciated

Hi,

Highlight your range from left to right and top to bottom.
In Conditional Formatting select (2003) Formula Is, or (2007) New Rule, Use a formula etc in the white box put this =$G2="W", Click Format, click fill, click OK.

	D	E	F	G
2	test	Dog	Cat	W
3	test	Dog	Cat
4	test	Dog	Cat	W
5	test	Dog	Cat
6	test	Dog	Cat	W
7	test	Dog	Cat
8	test	Dog	Cat	W
Sheet2

You can change the G2 to whichever cell W could be in first.
