Hi pse help me to easily format this range so that 1st quartile is Purple, 2nd quartile is Green, 3rd quartile is yellow and 4th quartile is red ........


a 2.805
b 2.796
c 2.544
d 2.179
e 1.981
f 1.829
g 1.751
h 1.706
i 1.659
j 1.541
k 1.421
l 1.201

Assuming your numbers are in B column.
Use following Conditional Formula and colors as per your requirement.

For Purple
=LOOKUP(B1,QUARTILE($B$1:$B$12,{0,1,2,3}),{1,2,3,4})=1

Green
=LOOKUP(B1,QUARTILE($B$1:$B$12,{0,1,2,3}),{1,2,3,4})=2

Yellow
=LOOKUP(B1,QUARTILE($B$1:$B$12,{0,1,2,3}),{1,2,3,4})=3


Red
=LOOKUP(B1,QUARTILE($B$1:$B$12,{0,1,2,3}),{1,2,3,4})=4
