Conditional formating highlight

hey guys im trying to make a conditonal formtting on a table with the help of a formula.
the formula im using is working but i need to highlight the second cell not 1st.
Let me explain
The formula im using is:=IF(AND(B1="A",C1="D"),1,0) which then highligh "B1".
what i need is somehow to highlight "C1" cell .
Is this possible ? and if yes how

You can highlight any cell based on a different one. Just make sure that the cell you want to highlight with the rule is the one that you have selected when you create the rule.

the rule is applied in a range e.g. $B$1,$E$5 table ( refereing on the figure above)

The formula im using is:=IF(AND(B1="A",C1="D"),1,0)
Firstly, when using conditional formatting you do not need to use an IF function like that. This CF formula would do exactly the same thing as yours
=AND(B1="A",C1="D")

It is not entirely clear what you are trying to achieve, but if you want that CF to highlight C1 instead of B1 then just apply it to columns C:E, not column B.
If that is not what you want then more explanation/examples would be benficial.

I suggest that you investigate XL2BB for providing sample data to make it easier for helpers by not having to manually type out sample data to test with.
