Conditional Formating Problem in Excel 2007

Hi Im new to the board. The new Excell 2007 has brought me here.

In the old excel I had Con Formatting in a worksheet that I set up no problem. In 2007 I cant work it out. When i go into CF there is ready made ones and being able to do it yourself looks a lot harder. Its probably me.

What I want it to do is this:

If a number in B1 is the same as cell A1 then the cell B1 is green
If a number in B1 is greater than A1 then B1 turns red
If a number in B1 is less than A1 then B1 turns blue

Choose the second option in CF and apply the formats accordingly

You may need the Last (5th) option as this is akin to the old 'Formula Is' option

is that the one that says TOP/BOTTOM rules?

Sorry (embarrassed now, i dont understand) the 5th option when I click on CF is icon sets.

Right - found format cells that only contain in new formating rule, is that the right one

Right you need the proper format options box

Is how it looks, Alt - o - d select New Rule

Alt - o - d was the old fashion shortcut, thankfully Microsoft left it in in Excel 2007 (they didn't leave alot) I'll still be around for a bit for immediate help, after that you'll need to visit back tomorrow
