I am trying to use conditional formatting to highlight the complete row within a data set but then I use the formula in conditional formatting, it only highlights the first column. The formula I am using is searching for the word total. Please see the formula below being used.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks.

=ISNUMBER(SEARCH($O$3,$A$4:$A$1840))

Excel Facts

Select all contiguous cells
Pressing Ctrl+* (asterisk) will select the "current region" - all contiguous cells in all directions.
try this
Code:
=ISNUMBER(SEARCH($O$3,$A4))

if thats not what you want, post a sample of what you have and what you want it to be.
