Conditional Formating

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
I'm not sure what I did wrong on the HTML thing but, how do I get Conditional Formating to draw a line between 8/25 and 8/29 in the date coloumn. Note: the dates change everyday and I want the line to follow according to today's date.

Hi Jeff:

If your dates are in column A, select column A adnd use formula is. Enter

=$A1=Today() Format for a bottom cell border or to underline the entry, whichever you prefer

Does this make sense to anyone?

Your criteria seems a little vague. If I understand you right, select your range of dates, choose conditional formatting from the format menu, change the drop down to "formula is" and type or paste in
=AND(A1>=(TODAY()-2),A1<=(TODAY()+2))
(adjust A1 to the first cell in your range.

Click the format button and choose the format to your liking.

EDIT:
A simpler formula just occured to me. Instead you could also use
=ABS(A1-TODAY())<=2

=AND(A1<=TODAY(),A2>TODAY())

this seems to work on my test....

sorry, I've forgotten what your original data ranges were now though

Chris is correct. I had assumed that there would be a date for each day without any missing dates. Chris's formula will work if there are certain dates missing.
