I have some text cells that have some special charters in them, “---“, I need to have these cells filled with another color other than the default color. Can any one help me pull this string out and then color the cell?

Excel Facts

Move date out one month or year
Use =EDATE(A2,1) for one month later. Use EDATE(A2,12) for one year later.

Hi welcome to the board!

Do the cells just contain --- or do they have text around them like abc---123?

formula equals =FIND("---",$A1)>0

The formula above will work but do you need the --- part?

If not Ctrl + H
Find what: **---
Replace with: **

I am getting an error, "A value used is of the wrong data type". What I need to do is I have a spreadsheet that has numerical values. Some cells have alph with the numbers. I need to find those cells and fill those cells with a different color.
