I am trying to find out the correct formula for conditional formatting days of the week.

In cell B2 I have the date (ex: 7/1/2008)
In cell B1 I have the day of the week (B1=B2 but the format is DDD so it shows up Tue)

I would like to highlight B1:Z1 (end of data range) and turn any Thursday, Friday or Saturday into red font with grey background. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance!

Try using =WEEKDAY(A1). This will return 1 for Sunday through to 7 for Saturday.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Select B1:Z1 and use the following formula in Conditional Formatting:

=WEEKDAY(B1)>4

Thank you all! I also found out I can use cell=TEXT(B5,"ddd") and conditional = "Thu","Fri","Sat"

Thanks!
