Hi all,

I have this file:

1644318719364.png

How do I make a conditional formatting formula (or whatever it takes) so if the COLOR (not the text!), but the color in column C is red, then the color for the respective cell ("hello" and "this" in cell A1 and A3) will also turn red?

Hope my question makes sense!

Would truly appreciate some help!

Thanks :)

Excel Facts

What is the fastest way to copy a formula?
If A2:A50000 contain data. Enter a formula in B2. Select B2. Double-click the Fill Handle and Excel will shoot the formula down to B50000.
How did the red colour in column C get there? Manually or Conditional Formatting or vba code?

Try this macro, adjusting the cell reference to your needs :

Private Sub Worksheet_SelectionChange(ByVal Target As Range)
Me.Range("C1").Interior.Color = Me.Range("A1").Interior.Color
End Sub

conditionally as well, sorry for not explaining this
Then you should be able to use the same condition in column A that you used in column C. If you need help with that, post details of the column C conditional formatting.
