HI Forum,

I am able to use conditional formatting to fill a cell with a certain color (green) if its value is greater than another cell, and fill it red if its value is less than that cell.

But I am having a hard time copying these rules to other relative cells. For example if B1 is greater than A1, it fills green. If B1 is less than A1, it fills red.

What do I do so these same rules apply to B2/A2, B3/A3, etc?

Thanks!

Excel Facts

Quick Sum
Select a range of cells. The total appears in bottom right of Excel screen. Right-click total to add Max, Min, Count, Average.
The easiest thing to do is to select ALL the cells you want to apply the Conditional Formatting rule to, use the "Formula" option for Conditional Formatting (the last option), and then write the Conditional Formatting rule as it applies to the FIRST cell in your selection, and choose your formatting color. It will automatically adjust it for the rest of the cells in your selection.
