Conditional Formatting for a Accounting Spreadsheet

Hello,

I'm looking for a conditional format setting to highlight cells that have not yet received a posted payment.

Cell M12 = Total Invoiced Value
Cell N12= Total Collected Value

I'd like for N12 to highlight in red when the total collected is less than the total invoiced. If its equal or greater, no formatting required.
I'd also like to N12 to be clear if M12 is blank (i.e. no invoice issued).

Thank you,

Excel Facts

Format cells as time
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+2 to format cells as time. (Shift 2 is the @ sign).
You can use a Conditional Formatting formula on cell N12 like this:
Excel Formula:
=N12<M12
and then choose your red formatting color.
