Hi all,

I am trying to format a column so that I can identify when a cell contains lowercase letters and then I can change each cell to uppercase. The problem is that the cells change length and format down the list so I cannot use the =EXACT formula.

Example:
Topo CodeTopo Code
1AA1231AA123
2p456With conditional format applied2p456
3Ab789==============>3Ab789
4FF894FF89
5Gg095Gg09

Thanks team,

Excel Facts

Repeat Last Command
Pressing F4 adds dollar signs when editing a formula. When not editing, F4 repeats last command.
If you need to check and then change, why not just add a helper and make the change anyway?
=UPPER(B2)
will do the conversion to upper case for any letters. If needed, you can copy/paste values over the original data, then delete the helper

Why not change all cells to upper case?

Thanks guys,

Yeah in normal circumstances I would definitely use that formula, however I am working with a quality assurance conditional format document that made. I copy/paste large data sets from a new database. I use this conditional format document to perform QA procedures on the data and then change it in the database (as we have little $$$ to update the new database currently).

Thus I need a code to work in a conditional format setting. When I enter the =UPPER(A1) rule into conditional formatting it does not seem to do anything. I tried that scenario first up.
