Hi,
I have a column containing data as follows:- (DTASP3, DTWEND, DTNS1W) etc. I want to fill the cell with colour for certain one's, ie all the those cells which are DTWEND.

I have used this:- =COUNTIF(F:F,F1)>1 for a column with numeric data, but can't find a formula which I can use with conditional formatting for the above.

Can anyone help please!

Thanks, Alley

Excel Facts

Square and cube roots
The =SQRT(25) is a square root. For a cube root, use =125^(1/3). For a fourth root, use =625^(1/4).
In the conditional formatting dialiog box for one of the cells (say A1) enter the formula:

=A1="DTWEND"

And adjsut the format as required

Just make sure that Excel doesnt put in any $ signs and just copy the formatting to the rest of teh column

Do you want to something like your countif formula?

If so sumproduct will work

=SUMPRODUCT(--(A1:A10="WHATEVER"))>1
