Quick question - I want to use conditional formatting to change the colour of a cell based on two outcomes in other cells. See the image below.

For example, if the severity is between 4 and 5 and the RPN fall between 13-62 i need the cell to turn red. One cell has a severity rating based on the table and the RPN number is a calculation of three other numbers.

Hope this makes sense.

Quick question
That usually means that it is not. ;)

If that is so, then wouldn't that just mean the top left one of your current red cells would always be red?

If the severity was 4 and the RPN was between 7-12 and want the cell to go yellow but if the severity was 2 and the RPN between 7-12 i want it to go green.

Make sense?

I was assuming it would require an IF formula??

Thanks,

I want the RPN cell to change colour depending on the the severity and calulation between the severity x occ x det

In the above example the RPN is 24 and the severity is 4 meaning i need the cell to go red.

Not sure how we could have guessed that from post 1. ;)

Also please investigate XL2BB for providing sample data & expected results to make it easier for helpers to understand just what you have & where it is & we can easily copy for testing, unlike an image.

See if this does what you want.

Hi Peter,

With a little extra help, we managed to use your formula to perform the task as required.

Thanks a lot.
