Conditional Formatting? Hidden formula in the 2 cells that works if you delete or change data.

I have two cells with basic formula. But you can either enter data in one cell and the other cell will populate the data and vice versa. I can even delete both without deleting the formulas. Is this from Conditional Formatting? If so how?

For Example I have Cell 1 as “Initial Loan amount”, and Cell 2 as “LTV %”.

I have a cell that already have purchase price number inputted. For this example it’s $6,000,000.

Now going back to the two cells. If I enter 65% in the LTV cell, the Initial Loan will state $3,900,000 (65% of $6,000,000). But if I change my mind and want to delete both cell, or just replace/overwrite the Initial Loan number for example to $2,100,000, then the LTV cell will automatically update/change to 35%. And if I wanted to go the LTV cell and change it to 60%, the Initial Loan cell will update to $3,600,000.

I have no idea how this is done. I hope what I said made sense.

Thank you in advance for your time and help.

Excel Facts

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
Paris0022, Good afternoon.

Probably it's done using VBA EXCEL.

Click at name of sheet with right click mouse, select "View code" and the code will appears.

The sheet Im working with have it locked and protected.

I am trying to emulate it on my own sheet. How does it work if I don't hit a VBA button to run?

Paris0022,

"...The sheet Im working with have it locked and protected..."
Then it will not be able to provide the code for you.

"...How does it work if I don't hit a VBA button to run?..."
I don't use VBA Excel but I imagine that in this case they are using a CHANGE EVENT clause.
No necessary to hit anything.

Probably will appear some user here to help you with VBA CODE tip.

Good luck.
