Hi folks

Sorry to trouble you all - I would be grateful for a little help in that I want to create a query that allows me to highlight the following;

If Cell C6 is between 0 & 5, it displays the word "LOW" and the cell is coloured green background
If it is between 6 & 10, it displays the word "MEDIUM" and the cell is coloured amber background
If it is between 11 & 15 it displays the word "HIGH" and the cell is coloured red background

Would appreciate anyone's guidance or advice on this. Many thanks in advance.

Excel Facts

How to find 2nd largest value in a column?
MAX finds the largest value. =LARGE(A:A,2) will find the second largest. =SMALL(A:A,3) will find the third smallest
Chris, Good afternoon.

You can't use conditional formating to give back answers than a cosmetic effect.

1) Use some function to give you the text answers. (IF, VLOOKUP, CHOOSE+MATCH etc)

2) Create rules at conditional formating for colouring cell as you desire.

I hope it helps.

Condition formatting can not put the word "Low" etc in the cell, it can only highlight it if it is already there.
However you can use this, which is only using the value 5,10,15 from which ever cell these values may be in
=C6<=5
=C6<=10
=C6<=15
P.S. They must be in the above order in the Condition formatting rules window. If not just highlight the rule and use the arrow keys to move its order in the list

To get the words "Low" "Medium" "High" into the cell, you are going to have to change your formula for C6
