Conditional Formatting - Is it possible affect the text along with the format?

I have several ranges that are under several CF rules. I would like to keep those rules in place as they still apply, but I want to add an additional rule that will change the text as well.

For example typing "A" enacts one of the existing rules. Typing "AB" will then display "MrExcel Help Me", while still keeping the CF for that cell. This question was posed here http://www.mrexcel.com/forum/excel-questions/853955-cf-triggers-text.html but it would seem that the OP never responded to a question for clarification.

I am sure that I can use =IF from outside of the cell to accomplish this, but I am stubborn. It is just too bad that being stubborn and ignorant are a great hindrance to me moving forward.

Yes, you can conditionally format the number portion of the text. In your custom number format paste the below

"MrExcel Help Me";"MrExcel Help Me";"MrExcel Help Me";"MrExcel Help Me"

This will instruct it how to handle positive results, negative results, zero results and text results respectively.

This trick is an easy way to have text in a cell, while still allowing you to perform mathematical operations.

WOW, that is exactly what I was looking for, but it wouldn't have made sense because of the "";"";"";"" structure. So, thank you very much for both the answer and answering the unasked question of why this works the way it does.

I regret using "MrExcel Help Me" as the example, as it made the answer difficult for me to read. I am sure this will not be the case for others, but if anyone would like a rough step by step, feel free to read* below.

B52 contains the text "With whom does Folly belong?". I want it to read "Kvothe" by removing the "?". After selecting Conditional Formatting choose Format only cells that contain. Choose Specific Text from the drop down and ending with in the second drop down. Type g in the empty field. Next, select the Format button below. With the Number tab selected, choose the category Custom. In the field provided type "Kvothe";"Kvothe";"Kvothe";"Kvothe" which will display Kvothe once.

*Quick disclaimer: Credit goes to CWatts. My abhorrent punctuation and grammar are not the point.
