Hi,

I want to conditionally format a worksheet so that a border is applied to all cells that contain text. However, I'm running into problems because the border currently only applies to the top-left cell in merged cells. How do I make it so that there are borders all around merged cells?

Thanks in advance,
D

Hi indavidual - Go into the conditional rule that you established and check the range that the rule applies to. Once I applied a conditional format to merged cells and the additional cells that were included in the merged cells were skipped in the range established by the conditional format. I edited the conditional format range, to include the entire column, and the formatting worked as I thought it should on the merged cells. Hope this helps.

Hi again - In further testing, this especially happens if you create the conditional formatting first and THEN establish the merged cells. I believe if you create the merged cells FIRST and then apply the conditional formatting you will have fewer problems. The bottom line, check the RANGE characteristic of the conditional formatting to make sure that no cells are skipped. Hope this helps.
