Hello everyone,
For all the things I can do in excel, this is not one of them.
I have a cell in column C and want to set a conditional format for this.
If the adjacent cell in column I says "HOME" I would like the cell to turn yellow, If it says "AWAY" then turn green.
When I go to
more rules
I get an option to select - Use a formula to determine which cells to format - I must be doing something wrong, as it is not happening.
Any help would get a lot of lovin.

cheers.

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
Hi,
Select Cell C1, click conditional formatting on the Home tab.
From drop down menu select "Use formula to determine which cells to format.
In format values where this formula is true... Type the formula

=$i1="Home"

Click the format button and the fill tab and selct the required colour.

Now do the same for "Away"

If done properly you'll get yellow green or no fill.

If it fails go and check your formulas.

Cheers BGY,
I had to select the whole column, working fine.
Thanks for that, something new learned today.

Hi Wally,

You're welocome and thnks for the feedback. Just for Info'.....

It's not necessary to select the whole column......

The $I anchors the formula to column I and the 1 allows the row to change when you copy the cell C/formual/Format down
Just set up C1 and copy down for as far as you need.
