Conditional formatting on length of characters in a cell

Hi all,

I am wanting to create conditional formatting on a cell.

When the contents of a cell exceeds 90 characters in length, I would like it to go RED. When the contents of the cell in within the boundaries of 1-90, then it can stay black.

I can't see to get the syntax right.

I also want this to happen on any length of cells, so I think I need to use referencing also.

Please help.

=LEN(a1)>90
