Conditional formatting original cell colour

Good morning,
I can't seem to find a specific answer to my problem. I have a sheet with the names of people on different shifts. I have created lists and using data validation have cells with drop downs. What I would like to do is fill a cell with a specific colour depending on what the original cell colour was. I can add all the names individually in conditional formatting but wondered if there was a faster way. So, for example, In cell H12 I pick Dave Smith from my list. He is on blue shift so his original cell is blue so I want H12 to turn blue. If I change the selection to Tom Davies who's on red shift I want H12 to turn red.

can you put a code next to the names to choose a colour - say 1 for red , 2 for blue
or do the shifts have something you can use for conditional formatting - like times

Note: Images are difficult to see , and also requires that I input all the data myself, which is very time consuming.

A SMALL sample spreadsheet, around 10-20 rows, would help a lot here, with all sensitive data removed, and expected results mocked up and manually entered, with a few notes of explanation.

OR if you cannot get XL2BB to work, or have restrictions on your PC , then put the sample spreadsheet onto a share
I only tend to goto OneDrive, Dropbox or google docs , as I'm never certain of other random share sites and possible virus.
Please make sure you have a representative data sample and also that the data has been desensitised, remember this site is open to anyone with internet access to see - so any sensitive / personal data should be removed
