I want to shade a cell red if the date is within 7 days of today AND until another cell is marked with a date. The second cell will either be blank or have the date this task is done. Can someone help?

Excel Facts

Excel Can Read to You
Customize Quick Access Toolbar. From All Commands, add Speak Cells or Speak Cells on Enter to QAT. Select cells. Press Speak Cells.
Is that 7 days BEFORE or AFTER the other date?
Can you clarify what columns each of these things is in, so we can tailor our response to your data structure?

Actually, it might be best to see a sample of your data so we can see how it is all laid out.
MrExcel has a tool called “XL2BB” that lets you post samples of your data that will allow us to copy/paste it to our Excel spreadsheets, so we can work with the same copy of data that you are. Instructions on using this tool can be found here: XL2BB Add-in

Note that there is also a "Test Here” forum on this board. This is a place where you can test using this tool (or any other posting techniques that you want to test) before trying to use those tools in your actual posts.

I got it figured out. In case anyone ever comes across this thread with the same question, I used this as my custom formula under conditional formatting:

=AND(D:D-$AE$1<7, AD:AD= "")

Column D are my dates, AE1 is TODAY() and AD is my marked when complete column.

Thanks for offering to help Joe.
