Conditional Formatting Question

Hi, I'm trying to create a conditional formatting formula that highlights cells when a due date (A1) is 0 to 30 days from the current date. The problem I'm having is that I do not know how to stop the formula at 0days. When A1 has past the current date, the bar remains highlighted because of the negative results of the date subtraction.

(TODAY() - $A1) <30

Can I limit the less than range to a 0 to 30 range and avoid negative results?

AND((TODAY() - $A1) <30,(TODAY() - $A1)>=0)
