I Might be really stupid here but all of a sudden i cant apply any conditional formats. I have been using them for quite a while now so it should be ok.

Heres an example of what is happening.

2 cells lets say A2 & A3

A2 = 100, A3 = 50

I apply the conditional format as follows

A3 is selected

cell value-is less than-A2 (format = cell color changes)

Cell turns red but if i change A3 to a number greater than A2 the cell remains red and no other numbers have any affect.

I must be doing something wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS I have recently upgraded from Office 2000 to 2003!

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
You could put another conditional format for if the cell is greater than A2.

There is a button on the conditional format screen to let you add another condtional format.

You can have up to a maximum of 3 conditional formats.

Hope this helps...

No Joy...I'm afraid

even if i put a constant in eg cell value is less than 100.

it still has the same affect... Just doesn't work????????

Hi,

Can you use 'Formula Is'? ..

Code:
=A3<A2
(With A3 selected)

Does that work for you?

Formula Is works Fine...

But i've been using conditional formatting for a long time now and have never had any problems till now. It's not as if i am trying to do anything difficult.

Thanxs for your suggestions..

Any ideas what could be wrong?

It's just a little bit frustrating......

Just tried this and it works for me when I click on the actual cell instead of typing A2
