How to create a cell-sized chart?
Tiny charts, called Sparklines, were added to Excel 2010. Look for Sparklines on the Insert tab.

With all the rows selected, Conditional Formatting Formula is:

=$A1="TOTAL"

which assumes that A1 is the active cell when it is entered. Change that reference to suit, but be sure to keep the $ before the column reference.
