Hi all,

I am trying to highlight the cells for all client names (Column A) on a spreadsheet where the amounts entered (Column B) equals $0.00.

Can anyone advise on how I could do this? Is it easy?

Many thx in advance.

Gary

Sorry Glenn, idiots guide required here - First time I've tried this.

Do I have to highlight the cells in column A first? Doesn't seem to be working.

What cells did you select before choosing menu command Format/Conditional Formatting? I assumed you'd be selecting column A or at least cells from column A ( range A1:A99 maybe? )?

Did you use my exact formula? Please paste the formula you used in your reply.

OK.

Firstly I selected the following range from column A (A5:A200) - These are the client names that I would like to highlight when the value is 0.

Then I went to Format -> Conditional Formatting:

FORMULA IS : $D5=0 (D5:D200 - being the value fields where 0 is the trigger)

From format I choose to bold the text and colour the cell.

Hope this is clear ;->

Formulas always start with "=", so that should be =$D5=0
