Conditional formatting

Hi folks. Can I have more than 3 conditional formats on my spreadsheet that I am now creating?

Hi -welcome to the board!

Short answer - yes, but it will need VBA.

It's a fairly common request - so my first suggestion would be to search this site for something like 'conditional format more', browse through the results to see if you understand the various methods, then post back with a bit more info on what you're actually trying to do in this case...

Hi Paddy. Thanks for your response. In short, I have 3 conditional formats that are assigned to areas J to MN cell areas J4 thru J45 and AN 4 thru AN 45. The 3 conditionals i have in place are ="X" to turn cell red if absent; ="off" to turn blue if scheduled day off and currently ="w" for a pretty soft yellow is person is working their shift.
I am breaking up my work group into 5 shifts for 24 hr coverage. I want each shift to turn their cells a specific color, while leaving those other formats in place.
What do you think?

should be fairly straightforward - did you find any previously posted examples that used the 'case' method in VBA?? (i.e. case 1 this, case 2 that etc) what did you make of them?
