Hello,

I have this formula in a cell =IF('IAN COLLINS'!J$22<=0,LOOKUP('IAN COLLINS'!J$6,{0,0.1,0.51},{"","1/2","1"}),"S")

When the cell shows an "S", can I do a conditional format to show the cell red?

thanks for any help
Stu

In CF you could invoke:

Cell Value Is, Equal to, "S".

thank you. The cell value is equal to S worked however.....

In one of my cells, the value is 1/2. When I try the same principal, it won't work. Any ideas?

thanks

You need:
Cell Value Is, Equal To, ="1/2"
and you should be OK.

What makes you think you cannot do that ? Ofcourse, you can do that. You are changing only the "FORMAT" of the cell and not the contents.

Select the conditional formatted cell, press Ctrl+1, Number tab, select "Text" and click on OK.

Then you didn't enter what I wrote, you entered just 1/2! ;)
