I need to have a row in a table change to different colors when one of the cells in that row has the date inserted. I did this years ago, but cannot remember how I did it. Anyone?
Well, this will work not only for dates but...
Conditional format on the cell you want to color, go to formula, type =if(cell you want to contain the date<>"",TRUE,FALSE), then format to whatever color you need.
Then apply this to as many cells as you need from conditional formatting menu.
Cheers,
Emil
Just highlight all the cells that you want to apply it to, and write the formula as it pertains to the first cell in that range.Awesome!! Is there a way to apply this to the entire row without having to go into each individual cell to apply the format?
Just highlight all the cells that you want to apply it to, and write the formula as it pertains to the first cell in that range.
It should adjust the cell references for all the other cells automatically.
If you need to "freeze" a row or column reference in your formula, use absolute referencing (i.e. put a "$" in front of the column/row reference).
