I am looking to write a statement that counts how many number fall between a giving set of criteria. For example:

Greater than 300 but less than 350.
COUNT = x

Can anyone help?

Excel Facts

Square and cube roots
The =SQRT(25) is a square root. For a cube root, use =125^(1/3). For a fourth root, use =625^(1/4).

Hi - welcome to the board!

one of many options:

=sumproduct((range>300)*(range<350))

see

for more info (follow the link to Aladin's post)

=COUNTIF($A$2:$A$100,">"&E1)-COUNTIF($A$2:$A$100,">="&F1)

where A2:A100 houses the data of interest, E1 a value like 300, and F1 a value like 350, always with E1 < F1.
