I need to sum the values in Column C based on the text in Column A.

Example: Sum the values in Column C that have "H" in Column A.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.
Something like

=Sumif(A:A,"H",C:C)

Just make sure the number of rows in column A matches to the number of rows in column C.

try

=sumif("A:A","H","C:C")

You might want to limit the ranges

=sumif("A1:A100","H","C1:C100")

for instance
