Conditioned counting

hi,

I need to count a number of names per week. I have the list of names, let's say in column A and the weeks in B. This file is updated every day and I need to know how to count how many times a certain name is the list for a certain week. It's like a conditioned countif, but I can't figure it out.

Have you considered a pivot table?

take a search on this forum for countif - lots of good examples from people who know (e.g. look at any Aladin or FairWinds answers!) You may also want to search on sumproduct for some alternative ideas.
