Confidentiality Warning on File Open

The legal folks at my company want me to add a confidentiality warning that will pop up whenever a particular file is opened. It contains some very key proprietary information in it, and they want the users to at least have the warning appear when they open it to let them know that by continuing to open the file, the acknowledge that the information included is protected and unlawful distribution can be prosecuted, etc....

The only way I know of (using Excel 2010) to do this is to put a macro in the OnOpen event with a MessageBox. Unfortunately, that will also create another warning message for the file asking whether to enable macros. And if they choose No (or have macro security set to always disable macros), then they'll bypass the legal warning.

I keep hoping there's some new function in Excel 2010 that would let me do this without either using a macro for it, or forcing the file to open with macros enabled.

Any suggestions? Or am I stuck?

You're stuck.

You can't programmatically enable macros, otherwise security would be meaningless.

But it's generally not a problem having Macros enabled.

Alternatively, you could add a sheet with the warning in it.
