I don't understand what the point of autofilter is if when you sum a filtered column, it sums the all the rows - filtered and non filtered.

For example:

Money Code
1 1
2 5
3 1
4 5
5 1
6 5

When I autofiltered on 5 and sumed the money column, I didn't get (as I thought I would) 12. I got the sum of the entire column. Why filter in the first place?

Excel Facts

Highlight Duplicates
Home, Conditional Formatting, Highlight Cells, Duplicate records, OK to add pink formatting to any duplicates in selected range.
You could use the subtotal function with 9 as the first argument, that would total just the visible rows.
