Can you AutoAverage in Excel?
There is a drop-down next to the AutoSum symbol. Open the drop-down to choose AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, or MIN
Create C:\FTP_commands.txt containing:

open 10.10.10.09 12345
user yourUsername pwd
cd your/unix/directory
!REM more commands here
bye

Then run it with:
Code:
Public Sub Ftp_Test()

    Dim FTPcommand As String
    Dim wsh As Object

    FTPcommand = "ftp -n -s:" & Chr(34) & "C:\FTP_commands.txt" & Chr(34)
    Set wsh = CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
    wsh.Run FTPcommand, 5, True

End Sub
