Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone has successfully connected a Sybase Adaptive Server Anywhere database to Powerpivot?

I can use the existing ODBC connection in Excel and this is fine, as soon as I go to Powerpivot, use ODBC, it just errors!

Any suggestions?

Move date out one month or year

It depends whether you want to interrogate it in real time. If you do, I don't have an answer :( but if you don't then I have used PowerShell to interrogate Sage Line 50 and drag data out into CSV files which are then easy to load into PowerQuery. I can post my script if you want, although it is a bit more complex because I load the CSV files up to an Office 365 Document Library.

The reason I couldn't do this directly from PQ (IIRC) was because the ODBC driver for Sage was only 32-bit and PQ needed a 64-bit ODBC driver. Are you using the correct ODBC driver? That's slightly vague in my memory, so my memory might not be correct.

Thanks, Ideally I am looking for real time.

I just don't understand how I can connect to the same database absolutely fine in Excel, but as soon as I try Powerpivot it errors.
