Consecutive cells above 0

Hi I have a column of values
-1
-1
-3
42
-5
7
I would like a formula to count number of consecutive cells directly above cell (7) is less than 0. So in this case 1.

In this instance it would be 2
-1
-2
3
4
5
-8
-5
7

It is not clear how the value 7 is relevant to the question. I've assumed that it is simply a count of the values above to be used as a reference point.
