Consolidating information and deleting extra rows

I have searched and searched, and just can't figure out how to do this. I apologize if it's been dealt with and I have missed it.

I have a spreadsheet with about 5900 entries of industrial buildings. In some cases, there is more than one building on a specific parcel of land, each parcel being identified by a unique nine-digit number (called a roll number). Each building has a corresponding area expressed in square feet. What I would like to do is sum the areas of all buildings on a specific parcel and have that sum replace the area listed for the first building for each roll number. I then want to delete the remaining instances of the roll number, so only the one with the sum remains.

Any suggestions on how to accomplish this would be most welcome.

Ambidextrous Undo
Undo last command with Ctrl+Z or Alt+Backspace. If you use the Undo icon in the QAT, open the drop-down arrow to undo up to 100 steps.
We've managed to accomplish this by running it through an Access database and then exporting. Thought I'm not sure exactly how. But it's done. So I suppose my question is moot.
