Excel Facts

Create a Pivot Table on a Map
If your data has zip codes, postal codes, or city names, select the data and use Insert, 3D Map. (Found to right of chart icons).
Try the following formula, which needs to be confirmed with CONTROL+SHIFT+ENTER...

=SUM(IF(FREQUENCY(IF(A2:A100=D3,IF(B2:B100<>"",MATCH("~"&B2:B100,B2:B100&"",0))),ROW(B2:B100)-ROW(B2)+1)>0,1))

Try this array formula**:

=SUM(IF(FREQUENCY(IF(A2:A10=D3,MATCH(B2:B10,B2:B10,0)),ROW(B2:B10)-ROW(B2)+1),1))

** array formulas need to be entered using the key
combination of CTRL,SHIFT,ENTER (not just ENTER).
Hold down both the CTRL key and the SHIFT key
then hit ENTER.

Assumes there are no empty cells within the data range of column B.
