An image copied to a worksheet cell. Is it possible to have any control tip text appear as you mouse over it? (The cursor does change to a select image but some text would be nice too)

Thanks, ABB

Andrew, are you sure an image control can go into a worksheet cell ?

This is the image control in the toolbox that you'd normally put on a UserForm?

I've googled for 2 days on and off and can find no confirmation on that - seems you can do just about anything but !

Thanks, ABB

Excel Facts

Square and cube roots
The =SQRT(25) is a square root. For a cube root, use =125^(1/3). For a fourth root, use =625^(1/4).
Is your problem that you don't see an Image control in the Toolbox? You can add it by clicking More Controls and selecting it from the list.

No, I can see it fine!! If I were putting it on a UserForm, no problem.
It's getting it from the toolbox into the woksheet cell that seems to be very non-obvious.

Activate your worksheet, right click any CommandBar and click Control Toolbox. Click the Image control and click and drag on your worksheet to position and size it. Right click to access the Properties.

You don't use the Toolbox in the VBE - you need the Control Toolbox in the main Excel window, if that's what's causing the confusion.

Thanks Guys - Control toolbox LOL I never knew such a thing existed !!

But obviously thing aren't quite like a UserForm. I tried a Command button on the sheet - the mouse cursor changes to a Mover, a single click selects it with handles, and a doube click runs the on-click event.

Heck, even weirder, seems to act differnetly when/if another cell is selected.
I'll try the image control and see what it does!

Thanks, ABB

Thanks, Andrew Just discovered that. Now it makes sense!!!

May do the job nicely, I have the XY co-ordinates in the Status Bar
and can select the cursor type etc.

Nice :) The things you learn....

Cheers, ABB

Andrew, wonder if you can help with one more??

I've got the picture on the image control, and can read the x-y cursor
and have a click event. But when the image it clicked, it's appearance
changes slightly. I can't figure out what that is, or how to restore the picture (apart from moving to another worksheet and back again).

Any thoughts?

Thanks.
