Hello,

Is there any way to convert CUT to COPY, and PASTE to PASTE VALUES, to avoid formatting/validation changes of unprotected cell with cut & paste? Ideally I would like to convert the core functions, rather than the menu items and shortcuts, as there are so many different ways to activate cut & paste.

How would you then restore these functions?

How to find 2nd largest value in a column?
MAX finds the largest value. =LARGE(A:A,2) will find the second largest. =SMALL(A:A,3) will find the third smallest
There are two options you might want to consider.

1. Train your users.
2. Lock down the sheet an only allow the user to use macro buttons that copy and paste values rather than cut.

Thanks.

While training will always be necessary, I would rather release a robust document with in-built comments and guidance and also a few simple lines of code to avoid potential problems in the first place.

Regarding Option 2, I have already written some code to disable all the cut & paste functions, however I couldn't find a way to disable specific Paste Special options like Paste Formats, Paste Validation and Paste All, etc. If you or anyone esle knows how to disable all Paste Special options EXCEPT for Paste Values then that would also work.

Otherwise, I was thinking it might just be easier to convert Cut to Copy, and Paste to Paste Values.

The problem is I can't figure out how to do either of these... :(
