Convert data to table without applying "table formatting?"

I have data in multiple sheets, in my workbook, that I want to convert to tables (for purposes of referencing the tables in another consolidated sheet) - but I don't want to change the formatting of that data.

Is there now a way to select a range and create a table from it, without using"format as table?" (I've seen the suggestion of formatting as table and then clearing formats - but I don't want to lose the formatting that I have now, in those sheets/ranges.)

thanks

Excel Facts

Fastest way to copy a worksheet?
Hold down the Ctrl key while dragging tab for Sheet1 to the right. Excel will make a copy of the worksheet.
When it say "clearing formats" it doesn't mean the usual clearing of formats, it means using the table style that has no formatting. See image below.
You should not lose any of your previously applied formatting,

Unfortunately that style does not appear in the table styles list when you first create the table.

Actually if you are doing multiples thers is an easier way,

Do the first one normally and change the style to NONE,
Then go back to the Table Styles Box and now that the NONE style is visible, right click on it and "Set As Default"
Creating the table with Ctrl+T in the same workbook will now use the Style NONE.
