I mistakenly changed my big spreadsheet to xls.htm. I tried to fix it and then I mistakenly changed it to .xls_files

Neither of these spreadsheets print properly. Now when I go 'save as', a regular xls extension is not available. How can I get back to a plain old spreadsheet .xls??

Thanks for your help.

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
Are you saying that in the Save As dialog box under "Save as type" the dropdown no longer includes "Microsoft Office Excel Workbook(*.xls)"?

To a fellow "the other Washington".

oops

I just figured out that if I opened it in Windows, I couldn't save it as an .xls but when I opened it from EXCEL, then I could.
