I have an Excel program written on a PC, which works as expected.

However, when a mac users runs it, they encounter an error:

Code:
Run-time error '429'

ActiveX component can't create object

1. Is this error message indicating my program contains ActiveX objects? I specifically added Shapes as buttons, not ActiveX buttons.

2. How easy is it to convert the program so that it can run on a mac?

Thanks

Yes, but it isn't necessarily anything to do with controls on a sheet.

Entirely depends on your code.
On my first point, what could it be relating to, if it's not about the controls on a sheet?

The main thing that springs to mind is CreateObject which is ActiveX.

Thanks.

I googled and realised my code contains a dictionary, even though it was late bound, it won't work on a mac.

On a similar note, I know ActiveX objects (like a button) aren't compatible between 32bit and 64bit versions of Excel.

If CreateObject was used in a 32bit program, would it work on a 64bit version?

As far as I know, but I've never used 64bit versions of Office.
