Hello all,

How can I convert =IF(LEFT(A4,1)<>(LEFT(A5,1)),"T","F") into conditional format's custom formula?
If the resulting value is a "T" then apply formatting.

Thanks.

Excel Facts

Will the fill handle fill 1, 2, 3?
Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.
Assuming you want to conditionally format the cell containing the formula (let's say B4) :

=B4= "T"

I wanted to put that formula directly in conditional formatting. the cells I'm working with will only have values and no formulas, thus trying to avoid a helper column. I got it all figured out. Thanks to both of you..
