I want to know how can I convert date into text.

Per example I have a certain date 10-10-05, if I change the format to text I get 38635 and I want to get 10-10-05.

I want that excel takes the date as text but show it as date not as a number.

How can you automate Excel?
Press Alt+F11 from Windows Excel to open the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) editor.
You could use the TEXT() function...just change the range and format to what you want.
=TEXT(A19,"mm/dd/yyyy")
