Converting to .csv requires to open-save twice!

Hi,

I remarked the following strange behavior with Excel 2002:

- MyWorksheet contains an 18 fields table (all values, no formulas)

- I convert MyWorksheet to a .cvs file using File>Save As and selecting "CSV (Comma delimited) (*.csv)" in the "Save as type" field.

- I open MyWorksheet.csv using Word to see the structure of the csv file. ***Empty rows are presented as 18 consecutives commas followed by a paragraph mark.

- I re-open MyWorksheet.csv using Excel and re-save it. I then re-open MyWorksheet.csv using Word to to see the structure of the doubled-saved csv file. ***Empty rows are presented as 2 consecutives paragraph marks.

Really strange behavior from Excel...

My problem is that the MyWorksheet.csv needs to be uploaded in a system that only accepts Empty rows presented as 2 consecutives paragraph marks (not 18 commas + paragraph mark.)

Anyone knows with Excel behave like that?

Hi,

Been ages since I had to save stuff in CSV format but I think I always used to use MS-DOS (CSV) format when exporting to other systems as it seemed to work better.

Might be worth a try.
