Hello all,

I want to make a sheet template, in which there is a normal table (source of data) and a pivot table.
I need to make a lot of copies of this template to work on them.

But the new copies of the pivot tables are always linked to the normal source table of the original. How can avoid this?

Even If I change the data source of the "pasted" sheet pivot table, it is a huge mess, because it will also change the source of data of the original sheet!

Making isolated excel files with the template sheet, and then duplicating them from windows explorer, kind of works (then I copy the sheet to my workbook). But, it is still annoying because I have to manual re-select the source of data every time

Any idea? (it´s 2016)

How to create a cell-sized chart?
Tiny charts, called Sparklines, were added to Excel 2010. Look for Sparklines on the Insert tab.
Hi There

I do something similar to what you describe. I have a template file that I open then save as a new file, the pivot then refers to the relevant table in the new file. If you copy a sheet from one file to another the formulas tend to stay referring to the source file. This is very frustrating.
As a side note, if you copy a sheet to a new table, or a set of formulas to a new sheet you can use search & replace to take the file name out of the formulas.
